Our Perceptions

Image
" One has not only an ability to perceive the world but an ability to alter one's perception of it; more simply, one can change things by the manner in which one looks at them." -  Tom Robbins A proverb of great relevance to this 3-minute duration video. In this oscar-winning animated movie, a self-centered, better yet egocentric man plays the role of the protagonist. He turned a blind eye to everyone who passes him, even those who are in trouble. Albeit he could've intervened easily, he chose not to as if he is living in his own world. After watching the video, the very proverb came to my mind and forced me think that as of today, people have forgotten that deeds, no matter how big or small, are really of great importance. We live in a world where everybody is always trying to leap forward, in order to achieve the state of success. For example, the majority of our society as of today are studying relentlessly to get good grades, which is imperative, h

Minds of Mischief

MINDS OF MISCHIEF This week's blog post tells the story of two curious children Alan and his brother in their mischievous act during their childhood. The misbehaviour took place on an afternoon when Alan was 9 years old, and his brother 2 who is 2 years older than him. It was Monday, their father were at work, leaving them under their mother's care. Both Alan and his brother had just gotten home from school and despite them being bored out of their mind, they couldn't bring themselves to do outdoor activities the house due to the hot weather outside. They lied on the couch watching TV, Alan's brother was surfing through the TV channels until he came across a TV show where the host was doing experiments with fire. It struck Alan and his brother. That's when they decided to become self-proclaimed scientists in their own mischievous little minds. With their mother sound asleep in her room, Alan and his brother took a matchbox lying around the kitchen cou

Top Ten Excuses for Skipping Class

Image
Why we skip class Whether you're feeling ill, unwell or straight up lazy to attend class you may resort to skipping them. We have gathered data by surveying fellow students if they have an opinion on this matter, and the results may be surprising. Here are top ten excuses students make when they're skipping class, whether unwillingly or not; 1. For girls, period pain . 2. Overused and cliche, but still being used anyway; stomach aches. 3. For boys, bad haircuts will ruin one's will to attend a whole day of class. 4. You have been faithfully attending class and have been a good kid, but you just need a break   from it. 5. Friends . Pretty self-explanatory, you wake up one day with scheduled morning class, your friend didn't wake up and so did you. 6. You   stayed awake the whole night and only got 2 hours of sleep. 7. A very true story.

7D - Very True Story The year was circa 2017 C.E. This event has been a tremendous part of my life. It made me who I am today. Time for some legitimate story-telling session.  Since we all were little, we were told to go to school for education. Some, well, most of us despised it. Even though education is a fundamental aspect of life, I've always had a hard time catching up with my studies. However, what kept me from dropping out of school is the thought of what my future might surprise me with. I always believed that the future held something special for me, despite how education is not my strength. Obviously, I was not the brightest student in class but I loved learning new things, mesmerised by Science and Mathematics mainly because those two subjects really gave the thought of how amazing the universe is, even if it's just the tip of the iceberg. However, due to my laziness and being the stubborn kid I was, I overestimated my abilities and therefore, I did

Movie Review - Hunter Killer

Image
Hunter Killer Today at 7 Deadly Sins we will be looking at the new movie currently airing in cinemas worldwide. Our five members headed on to One Shamelin last week to enjoy this movie for the sake of reviewing it. The movie is mainly about America's patriotism to save the country and the world from ensuing chaos, probably saving the world from World War III as well. For our reader's information, this movie was inspired by the novel Firing Point, authored by George Wallace and Don Keith. The movie starts off strong, with USA's nuclear submarine, USS Tampa Bay being sunk by an unknown source. The Department of Defense (DoD) assumes that USS Tampa Bay was sunk by a Russian submarine, Konek. Moving on, The United States ordered a submarine, codenamed Hunter Killer to investigate with the disappearance of Tampa Bay. Hunter Killer was captained by Joe Glass, a typical heroine with rather cold-expression and strict behavior. However, it was later revelead that Kon

D.I.Y Party Ball

Image
Today, at 7 Deadly Sins we created a ball. Not just a ball but also a DIY Party Ball. We made the project using a bunch of materials we gathered from various sources. We used an empty gallon water bottle and plastic spoons. Materials:  - Empty gallon water bottle. - Plastic spoons. - A source of light preferably a lightbulb if you wish to connect to a plug adapter socket. However, for this blog post we decided to use a set of a car's LED party lights that I found in my trunk. It easily cuts down on costs and time. Moreover, it came equipped with a 12-volt adapter which will fit effortlessly without requiring any further alterations.  Apparatuses used were mainly a hot glue gun, scissors to cut the plastic spoons and a shoelace used as a hanger.
